Letter from the Director
Dear subscriber,

On World Water Day, on March 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Catch the Rain campaign under the flagship programme of Jal Shakti Abhiyan, putting the spotlight on to water security and water management. He said losses during droughts can be controlled if more water is saved during rains. If rainwater is managed better, it will reduce the country’s dependence on groundwater. Interestingly, as per the UN’s report on Sustainable Development Goal-6 (SDG-6) on Clean Water and Sanitation For All By 2030, India achieved only 56.6 per cent of the target by 2019). This shows that we need to do more to conserve water.
