Letter from the Director
Dear subscriber,

The government announcement of a relief package for the poor worth Rs 1.7 trillion to blunt the effects of the lockdown imposed to contain Covid-19 is a welcome move. Focusing on reconstructive steps is going to be crucial in the coming days. A lot needs to be done on all fronts to clean the scars left by this unprecedented onslaught. For instance, on the social side, stories of doctors, health workers, airline staff facing ostracization due to rumours of spreading the virus paint a grim picture of humiliation suffered by frontline workers.

We, at Tatsat Foundation, would like to keep an optimistic outlook and are determined to do our utmost to repair the damages faced by the vulnerable sections. It’s a collective humanitarian challenge that we all have to fight together. Please browse through the April 1-15, 2020 Tatsat Communique to remain connected with issues that matter.

Sumi Gupta, Director, Tatsat Foundation
